Rebounderz, New Indoor Trampoline Arena | Community Spirit
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Can you image jumping in endless room of trampolines for hours and then getting the chance to free fall into an endless foam pit? Well you can get your chance to go where no one else has gone before at the 10,000 square foot Rebounderz Indoor Trampoline Arena in Newport News. Rebounderz just recently opened on December 1st by owner Helda Thomas.
Rebounderz is dedicated to providing a safe but yet exciting and fun environment for friends and families to enjoy together.
“It ia an indoor trampoline arena; It is a franchise out of Florida, we have one here in Newport News and another one in Sterling. The main age group is three and up the main demographic is usually about 10-22,” stated passionate Rebounderz employee Josh Hancock.
Hancock has a deep personal passion for his job at Rebounderz. “In California I used to teach Parkour and Gymnastics so I love it because I can come in here and flip around for hours and feel like I am flying; I come in here on my days off, it's like I am never gone,” explained Hancock.
As if a 10,00 square foot room of trampolines is not enough entertainment for you, Rebounderz also offers air dodge ball games, a full arcade room and even an Xbox playing room. Rebounderz even plans to expand in the future.
“Once we start gaining more revenue we are going to move the arcade games over and were actually going to turn that entire side into laser tag,” explained Hancock.
Rebounderz, although aimed for children and families, also attracts large groups of college students and even large groups of business companies.
“We have had groups from William and Mary come in here of 55 strong and jump around for an hour or so. We have also had corporate team building events, there was like 50 or 60 of them and they all came in and played dodge ball,” stated Hancock.
With the trampoline arena being the main attraction Rebounderz also has a giant foam pit that customers love.
“People like the trampoline arena the most but are a big fan of the big foam pit we have out their it’s a three and half deep foam pit where you can do flips and stuff into it,” stated Hancock.
The Rebounderz has very affordable prices considering the amount of activities that is included in their price.
“Usually our prices are $15 for a 75 minute session which we call a jump hour, this includes the time it takes to get your equipment and get your safety lesson. We also sell jump half hours for $10, which are for forty minutes. We have various specials throughout the day,” stated Hancock.
With spring break being a very busy time for them Rebunderz has been staying open until 10 PM on the weekdays. This week children off on Spring Break in the Newport News and Hampton Roads area were seen leaving with huge smiles and lots of sweat on their faces.
Hampton Roads local, ten year old Thomas Townsen, spent his spring break at Rebounderz. “It is fun because its awesome and you can get as crazy as you want,” hyped Townsen.
Party and Marketing Manager, Ashley Malunas, gets to see first hand every day how much these kids love Rebounderz.
“It’s a lot of fun working here, I get to deal with kids all day and I love kids,” exclaimed Malunas.
“After kids leave the parties they are amazed at how big the jumping space actually is,” explained Malunas.
Rebounderz also offers summer camps. They take reservations from Monday thru Friday but would like you to call ahead for available times and availability.
